Astrology and Exercise

Lynn Hayes has an article on exercise on her blog. Go to Lynn's site to read about house cleaning as one of the healthiest forms of exercise for women. There is a positive connection between nurturing and the breasts.

This makes sense. Doing daily chores is one of the easiest forms of exercise around, and for those women who do housework because they like it, there’s probably the added benefit of some type of hormone. The way we feel when we exercise is just as important as the exercise itself.

House cleaning exercises all parts of the body. It’s a combination of walking, lifting weights, and aerobics. Good house cleaning gets to all the muscle groups.

I'm not surprised that gyms don't provide as much benefit as hyped. Most people drag themselves to the gym out of a feeling of necessity rather than enjoyment. They try to find ways to tolerate the exercise, listening to music, watching TV, reading newspapers and books. However, if they don't find joy in the three-day-a-week gym routines, the benefits will be reduced.

This is where astrology comes in. There is a type of workout for everyone. Here is an overview for each sign.

Aries benefits from any type of movement, especially forward movement that is quick and free running, such as sprinting, fast walking, and sports. However, Aries gets bored doing the same thing repeatedly. Even though Aries rules the head, I wouldn't suggest head-butting. It usually gets you called out of the game, such as the incident with Zinedine Zidane

Taurus needs a slow and steady routine, and once the rhythm is established, Taurus is happy doing something over and over. Taurus does have a tendency to put on weight, so movement is needed. Being a practical earthy sign, it helps if keeping fit is combined with something such as daily chores that make the living environment comfortable. Taurus is associated with the earth; gardening is a good form of movement. Since Taurus doesn't like overexertion, gentle yoga may be just right.

Gemini will be attracted to many forms of exercise. Gemini needs variety, and change of rhythm and speed; fast one day, slow the next. I wonder how many bike messengers have the Sunor Mars in Gemini. Solitary exercise is not recommended for a Gemini.

Cancer should find some way to exercise in the kitchen, cooking large meals, cleaning up the kitchen, just don't eat everything. Exercising with the family would do wonders.

Leo needs something that makes them look good. If they’re going to do their workouts in a group, they must be outfitted in a way that makes them feel good about themselves. They could find a way to combine exercise with making things look good. I know a Leo who loves home and garden, and spends much time and movement making it look good.

Virgo is discriminating and may try out the latest program. Virgo likes details, so complicated routines may keep them on track and interested. Virgo is also a perfectionist, and they’ll keep doing something until they get it right or perfect. This may be a good thing if they don't start criticizing themselves. Some type of exercise with a pet, such as walking or running is another option.

For Libra dancing is great; it combines balance, and harmony with social contact. Golf is good because its considered a social sport. Doing something with a partner may be more important than the exercise itself. I often see two people running together. I wonder if one of them is a Libra.

Scorpio is an intense, focused sign, and it's very private. Solitary exercise done in the privacy of the home is ideal. Scorpio is also a sign of power. Weight lifting or martial arts are two examples of exercise that may appeal to a Scorpio. Weight lifting develops strength and power. Martial arts and Qigong develop focus and inner power.

Sagittarians need some type of sport. The symbol of Sagittarius is half man, half horse, shooting an arrow into the sky, so he is associated with archery, and horseback riding. Since Sag is a friendly, out-going sign, the society of golf is appealing. Sagittarians may also enjoy yoga, Tai Chi, or Qigong (Chi Kung, Chi Gong) because of the spiritual connotations.

Capricorns are attracted to movement that is combined with work and status. I wonder if there are a high number of Capricorns on the golf course with business partners or clients. I know a Capricorn who was in great shape and enjoyed the physical aspect of her job, but when she changed to a desk job, she didn't continue the same level of activity.

Aquarius will do well in a club, with a group, or in a team sport. Golfing is a group sport, often done through a club, but it may not be exciting enough for an Aquarian, although the mental aspect is appealing. Choose exercise with sudden shifts of movement, and up in the air type movements, such as basketball and volleyball.

Pisces does well with exercise of an aquatic nature. Since Pisces is a sign of poetry, music and dancing, such as water ballet may be appealing. This is one sign that benefits from music with their workouts. I wonder how many musicians who dance around the stage are Pisces. Musical performances may be just the ticket.

There is much more to astrology and excercise. This would be a great go-round type article. I hope other astrologers eventually add their perceptions and experiences, personally and from their clients. I'll see what I can find. Tag: Barbara, Lynn

Santa Communication Slowdown

This message just in.

Santa's still on track. He started his travels in Australia, and the Far East, (they're a day ahead of the West.) He's been over Africa and Europe, and has recently been sighted over the Americas. He's making his way through South America, and he’ll soon be headed to North America.

Communication is slowing down. It may be the latest sunspot, or it may be the Sun and Pluto with the Galactic Center, or it may be a jam-up on the Santa tracking site, since people all over the world are tracking Santa and his sleigh. Click here to get a report on his travels.

Don't forget the milk and cookies.

Track Santa

One of Santa's helpers has given me a link to track Santa's path and get the latest sighting.

NORAD Tracks Santa 2006

He takes his work seriously as you can see by his expression, (he's a Capricorn); he's a little tired, but he's taking a moment to revive, and give me this message. All is going well, they're on track. They've hit a few storms but nothing stops them.

For earlier sightings go to http://www.noradsanta.org/en/default.php

Santa is always reliable and works hard to fulfill his responsibilities,(a Capricorn trait). Every year he visits children all over the world. Saturn in Leo will help him get to where he needs to go because Leo is the sign of children, and Saturn is a duty bound planet. Saturn will make sure the job gets done.

Santa's helper will be back to tell a few tales after he gets back to the North Pole. He'll probably take a nap and speak with us tomorrow.

Peace in the World

Most of the major cites are getting pretty frazzled this week. I'm hearing stories about people getting stuck in traffic or fighting over parking spaces. It's not unusual to spend 45 mintues on a road when it should be a three mintue ride. Think peace and look for the calm.

Here is a message that I got from the Omega institute by way of the Organic Garden Cafe. Pass it around.

By now, most of us have probably heard the story about the Christmas Truce of 1914 on the front lines of World War I. Many say it is one of the most remarkable incidents of World War I, and perhaps of all military history.

The story goes that starting in some places on Christmas Eve and in others on Christmas Day, the truce covered as much as two-thirds of the British-German front, with thousands of soldiers taking part. Perhaps most remarkably, it grew out of no single initiative but sprang up in each place spontaneously and independently.

British and German soldiers climbed from their muddy trenches, exchanged cigarettes, food, jokes, beer. With the truce in full swing up and down the line, there were a number of recorded games of soccer. The truce lasted all day in most places; in others it went on for another day or even a few more days. And then, at one point, a German captain fired two shots into the air, and the war was on again.

Peace in the world remains a precious thing these days. But this story reveals how we can each bring peace into our lives and out into the world: We can choose peace. It just doesn’t happen. We have to make it happen. And it’s up to each of us.

In his renowned book, Man’s Search for Meaning, Victor Frankl wrote: “Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.” If we choose to have an attitude of peace in our daily lives, this can go a long way toward neutralizing the insidious way violence creeps into each of us, and help end the idea that fighting and war is the answer to any human conflict.

As the ancient Chinese sage Lao Tzu wrote 2,500 years ago:

If there is to be peace in the world,There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,There must be peace in the heart.

This holiday season—and beyond—we can each become messengers of peace by bringing peace into our hearts so that there may be peace in the world.

I wish you all peace and joy. Susan

Computer Glitches, Sunspot 930, Coronal Holes, and the Galactic Center

Has your internet connection been slow, or has your connection crashed when visiting sites? Many networks have been experiencing problems in the past few days. No it's not due to Mercury Retrograde, and for most of you, it's not some ghastly aspect in your chart. Several things are going on. One of the biggest has to do with the Sun. Sunspot 930 is going berserk. On December 14th, the Sun had a massive coronal ejection causing severe geomagnetic storms. This affects satellite transmissions as well as giving us magnificent auroras. Here is a picture of the aurora.

Go to Space Weather for more information. We'll experience another ejection on 12/16. Also solar wind from the coronal hole could reach us on 12/19.

Let's look at what's going on astrologically. This week the Sun and Pluto are making a conjunction, and the Galactic Center is involved. On 12/18, the Sun, the powerhouse in our galaxy, makes a conjunction to the Galactic Center. On 12/28, Pluto, the big transformer, conjuncts the GC. We'll see what that tiny little dwarf can do when sitting on the GC.

Sun, Pluto, and the Galactic Center, what an unknown mix. We know that energy (the Sun) and a transformer (Pluto) will work with the source (the Galactic Center). Unfortunately we can only guess what the source means, how it works for astrology, and how the three work together. These planetary conjunctions may be part of the reason that sunspot 930 is larger than the usual sunspot. This is an X-class flare, the biggest of the flares; x-flares are major events that can trigger satellite problems, internet disconnects, radio blackouts, and long-lasting radiation storms.

MIKA - A Rising Star for 2007

Maybe it's a Sagittarius thing, but I've been in the mood for music that’s either religious or upbeat. Every once in awhile I’ll wander over to YouTube and listen to Alexis Strum sing, "I’ll See You This Christmas".

I love her voice and the video is adorable, but after a bit, it gets a little maudlin. I’ll send some good thoughts her way and hope her loneliness ends soon. Just kidding, it's part of the song; I don't think she wrote it because she's lonely. Unfortunately too many people are lonely at this time of year. A Capricorn trait.

I do love the music at this time of year, but as my dentist once yelled, as he had the needle in my mouth, “this stuff is depressing”!! Of course, I had to mumble "yes" in agreement. I do agree, too many Christmas Carols about wanting to go home are rather bleak after awhile. We get to listen to this stuff starting in November. Even the Beach Boys get to be too much.

Sagittarius is an uplifting sign, but it is followed by Capricorn. After all the jolliness of Sagittarius, Capricorn can be dour and depressing. A few days after the Sun enters Capricorn, I've had enough caroling.

For some odd reason I've been in the mood for sopranos who hit can hit hi C and hi D. I found an artist with a great falsetto, who broke up my Christmas Carol gloom. He’s not usually my style, but the fast beat got me going. It doesn't matter that I can’t understand much of what he’s saying, except for the title of the song. So if you need a little "Love Today", and a quick pick up, listen to Mika. I had to click on the triangle in the listen button two times to get it to work. When it turns to a square it starts to load. It may take a minute to load, and you'll hear him singing in his falsetto after about 30 seconds.

Blog of the Day Tuesday 12/14

This is a busy month for me, the muse is quiet, and I doubt I'll get to do much blogging.

In the next several weeks, I'm going to send you off to some good blogs about astrology and other things. The blog for today is Aquarius Papers by Robert Wilkinson. He posts almost daily. Every week he does a post about the current aspects for the week, he does a post on the sign of the Sun for the month, as well as good articles on spirituality, politics, and many other things. Click here to go to his blog.

Enjoy, and I wish you the best during this celebratory season.

Pluto and the Galactic Center

On 12/28/06 Pluto will conjunct the Galactic Center. although we don't have a long astrological tradition with the Galactic Center, we can surmise a few issues that this conjunction brings up and guess at the outcomes.

Pluto is about power, death, and transformation, while the Galactic Center is the core of our universe. When the great transformer conjuncts this point, there will be a outpouring of incredible energy and change; Pluto will act as the transformer of energy.

Pluto makes this conjunction in the optimistic sign Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the archer, half man, half animal,(a horse) shooting an arrow to a specific point in the future. Sagittarius is a sign that represents larger views, expansion, and the quest for something bigger and better. The sign Sagittarius is ruled by Juppiter, the largest of the planets, so it brings us abundance, and as much as we can get of anything.

In the years since Pluto has been in Sag, we have seen an expansion of great wealth. Billionaires are made almost overnight. Of course, I'm exaggerating, (a Sagittarius characteristic), but we are hearing about great wealth built up in less than ten years (the creators of Google are a good example), millions in a year.

Sagittarius is a jolly sign. Horses have a playful, affectionate side and will nudge or butt us with their heads. It's their method of joking with us. Have fun, don't take all that stuff seriously, it's not a horse race to the finish to claim the most stuff.

Whatever Sagittarius brings us will be in balance if we balance our higher and lower natures, (half man symbolizes the higher nature we're balancing with the instinctual half animal). If we don't keep this abundance in check and things get out of control, we amass more than we can handle.

In one of my last articles, I wrote about Feng Shui. Brian Brogan has posted many good articles on his blog, and they are worth reading to get an idea of how too much stuff and clutter affects our flow of good things. I like the way Brian looks at this aspect of Feng Shui, he goes beyond the rules and regulations (Saturn) of Feng Shui and considers each person as an individual (Sun and Uranus) and helps them make changes and transformation (Pluto) based on their soul purpose and individuality.

Listen to an interview with Brian Planetary Spirit.

Scroll down the page and click on Brian Brogan. The interview will automatically load and play within a minute or two, depending on your connection.
You don't have to sign up or join anything to hear the broadcast.

Many spiritual sights are doing this type of interview. This is an example Uranus and Neptune working together. Technology is blended with the spiritual matters.

Lynn Hayes has also written a great article on the GC. I'll post more about that later.

The Jupiter, Merucury, Mars Alignment

I've received quite a bit of correspondence on the alignment of Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury this weekend. Most people asked if the alignment is causing their extremely upbeat, optimistic moods, and I say yes.

Sunday will be the day that these three planets will be the closest, and visible in most parts of the world. You'll see these planets as bright lights next to each other, even though they are separated by hundreds of millions of miles. Although they'll be very bright, it will be difficult to see them with the naked eye, especially near a city. If you hold out your thumb, it will cover the three planets. When looking for the planets, look for the objects that don't twinkle.

You'll be able to see them again on Monday, but they won't be as close.

This is a picture from Astronomy Picture of the Day a from a few days ago. I'm sure there will be more. The tiny little light in the center of the picture below the dark clouds is Jupiter. It is much clearer at their site.

The last close conjunction of these three planets was in 1925, and the next will be in 2053.

You'll be able to see them before dawn, however, when you view anything in the sky in close proximity to the Sun; you must take precautions, so finish your viewing before the Sun rises.

In astrology this is considered powerful because they are conjunct by declination as well as longtitude. A conjunction by declination is sometimes more powerful than a conjunction by longitude. Declination is associated with the path of the Sun, called the ecliptic. When planets line up together along this path, they are conjunct by declination. The fact that we have a line-up of six planets in Sagittarius is even more prophetic for good news.

Even if the alignment is making a hard aspect to your natal chart, you will still receive some benefit. Because it is in the sign Sagittarius, you have to watch for, exaggerating, overdoing, or judgment, and don't be overbearing.

For those who have good aspects, this conjunction will make it almost effortless to attract good things, and you don't have to view the planets to receive the benefits. If you have a hard aspect, you still have the opportunity to attract good things; you just have to work a little harder. This should bring good reports in the news in the days to come.

Astrology is Fun

I just finished reading Barbara Palliser's blog at Silverwheel Astrology. She is proving that astrology is fun and useful on an everyday basis by using stories about daily life to explain what's going on in astrology. She wrote about her relative's experience visiting New York during 911. They just went back, and I hope we get another installment. I want to know how they view New York now. You don't have to read stories about movie starlets or stars on the so-called A list or D list to enjoy astrology.

Another blogger I enjoy is astrologer Phil Brown. He writes about the music concerts he attends and give us some astrology about the performer.

I'll add a plug for his book Cosmic Trends. I'm thoroughly enjoying the book and plan to use it as a textbook in my classes. Even if you don't want to learn astrology, this book will keep you enthralled. This is also a good book to learn business trends. Find out what's coming up.

I don't have time to do much writing now, so I'll feature other bloggers that I enjoy.

If you have some good astrology stories, send them to me and I'll post them with a short review.

Another plug for my stuff. Buy a report or a consultation for a holiday gift.

Taking a Break from Blogs

As you've noticed my posting has been slow lately. Holiday and class preparations have left little time for blogging, but I've made sure I still do the weekly updates. I have several articles almost completed, and I should be posting about the Saturn retrograde in the next few days.

On 12/11, I'm doing a class on the events for 2007, and if all goes well, I'll be offering a CD and tape of the class for purchase. I'll let you know as soon as it's available. I doubt I'll have it done before the holidays.

Now for my shamless marketing pitch. If you'd like to spend some money on astrology, check out my report section. Each report has a link to a sample of the report. Through the end of the year, I am offering a great special. They are ordered safely through PayPal with major credit cards.

I'm also offering gift certificates for readings. Email me for information. If you order now, I'll be able to mail you a gift certificate in time for your gift giving. If you order after 12/23, you'll receive the gift certificate in the mail after the 25th.

I wish you the best for this joyous season.
Wishing You Magic and Miracles
